Terms of Service
What you can expect from Journi, what Journi expects from you, and the limits of a service that is still growing.
Last updated 29 September 2026
1The short version
- Journi helps you plan, organise, and remember your Journis. It does not book or sell travel.
- What you put into Journi stays yours.
- When you share a Journi, you decide who is on it and what they can see, and you are responsible for who you invite.
- Journi is still growing and is provided as it is. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot travel without, and check important details with the airline, hotel, or whoever you booked with.
The sections below say the same things in more detail.
2Agreeing to these terms
By using Journi you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Journi.
3What Journi is, and what it is not
Journi is a travel companion operated by Nara Digital Services. Each Journi holds its itinerary, places, documents, packing list, expenses, the people travelling on it, a Conversation that shows what has changed and what people have said about it, and your review of it afterwards.
Journi is not:
- a travel agent, tour operator, or booking service. It makes no reservations and is not a party to any you have made
- a financial service. Expense totals and splits are a record of what was entered, not accounting, tax advice, or a settled debt between people
- an official source of travel information. Times, addresses, and flight details are the ones you entered. Weather, maps, time zones, and travel-time estimates come from other providers and may be incomplete or wrong. Typical weather for dates further ahead is an average of past years, not a forecast
Before relying on a detail at a check-in desk or a border, confirm it with whoever you booked with.
4Your account
You sign in with your Google account, so Journi does not hold a password for you. Keeping that account secure is your responsibility: anyone who can get into it can get into your Journis.
Use your own account, and do not try to reach a Journi you have not been invited to or information that is not yours.
5What you put in stays yours
You keep every right you already had in what you add to Journi: your Journis, your notes, your expenses, and your reviews. Journi does not claim ownership of it.
You give Journi only the permission it needs to run: to store what you add, to show it back to you, to show the parts you share to the people you share them with, and to use your own reviews to make suggestions for your later Journis, as described in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for what you add, and for having the right to add it. That includes other people's details: the names and roles of your travel companions are what Journi is for; their passport numbers or payment cards are not.
7Acceptable use
When using Journi, please do not:
- break the law, or store anything that is unlawful to hold
- harass, deceive, or harm other people, including people on your Journis
- try to access information that is not yours, or interfere with, overload, or probe the service
- resell Journi, present it as your own, or access it automatically at scale
Accounts that do these things may be suspended or removed.
8Availability and changes to Journi
Journi is in active development. Features are added, changed, and sometimes removed. Journi is currently provided without charge, and there is no promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted, or unchanged.
Treat Journi as a convenient copy rather than your only copy: keep boarding passes, confirmation numbers, and any document you could not travel without somewhere you control as well.
9Services from other providers
Parts of Journi, such as sign-in, storage, maps, and weather, are provided by other companies, described in the Privacy Policy. They operate under their own terms, and Journi is not responsible for their availability or accuracy.
10Journi's name and design
The Journi app, its name, its logo and suitcase mark, and its design belong to Nara Digital Services or its licensors. [To be confirmed: owner of the Journi name, logo, and design] These terms do not give you any right to use them beyond using Journi itself.
11No warranty
Journi is provided as it is and as it is available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. There is no promise that it will be uninterrupted or error free, or that information stored in it will never be lost.
12Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Nara Digital Services is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of Journi, including missed flights, lost bookings, lost information, or costs caused by a detail in Journi being wrong or unavailable. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use Journi. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
13Ending your use of Journi
You can stop using Journi at any time, delete your Journis and reviews from inside the app, and write to legal@takejourni.com to have your account removed. Access may also be ended if these terms are broken, or if Journi is discontinued.
14Changes to these terms
These terms will change as Journi does, and the date at the top will change with them. Continuing to use Journi after a change means accepting the updated terms.
15Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. This does not take away any protection you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in. Questions about these terms can be sent to legal@takejourni.com.
These pages are written to be read rather than to be impressive. If something here is unclear, or does not match what Journi actually does, write to legal@takejourni.com or use the contact page, and it will be put right.
